I want to bring a group of people with me. How do we all register? Will we get a special rate?
Groups of 10 people or more receive our member rate of $85 per person. We will also do special trips for groups of 80 people. Please call the Museum at 631-477-2100 for details.
How do I get to the museum?
The “Directions” page on our website can help you! - http://www.eastendseaport.org/Directions.html
How long is each trip?
Day cruises are six hours long. Evening cruises are three hours long. Bug Light trips are 90 minutes long.
How many lighthouses will I see?
On a Day Cruise you will see 6-8, depending on the wind and sea conditions. On an Evening Cruise you will see 4 lighthouses. The itinerary for the trip will be posted on a board as you arrive at the museum.
Are pets allowed?
No pets are permitted. We do permit seeing-eye dogs.
Can I bring a cooler?
No coolers are permitted. There is no extra room on the vessel.
What is on board to drink?
Each person has a complimentary drink ticket for either a glass of wine, beer or bottle of water. You can also purchase wine, beer, soda and water inexpensively on board.
Is smoking allowed?
No smoking is allowed on the boat or the lighthouse.
What do I wear?
Wear shoes or sandals with a rubber sole. Sneakers or boat shoes are great. It’s important to bring a windbreaker, sweatshirt or sweater for evening comfort – it’s cooler out on the water. Bring a hat and sunscreen, since the decks are open and the sun is hot and bright. Don’t forget your sunglasses.
Can I sit indoors?
Yes, but we have limited cabin space.
Do we go if it rains?
Yes, we go rain or shine. Check the weather the day before to see if you need to bring rain gear.
Have any trips ever been cancelled because of weather?
In our 12 years of running lighthouse cruises only two trips have been cancelled because weather concerns. If so do cancel, participants will receive a full refund.
What’s your refund/cancellation policy?
If you cancel two weeks before the cruise you will receive a full refund. We will not refund anyone after that time unless we can fill your place on the boat. If we do, you will receive a full refund. We would also be happy to transfer your reservation to another trip if space is available. We will not refund or transfer no-shows.
Can someone go in my place?
Yes, substitutions are permitted, but please call us to let us know the person’s name.
How many people are on a cruise?
We have room for 80-85 on Day and Evening cruises; and 50-60 for Bug Light trips.
Is the trip suitable for children?
The trip is not suitable for infants or children under ten years of age. There is no space for toys and the cabins and restrooms do not include changing tables. Children under ten years of age are not permitted on Bug Light because of height-related safety issues.
Can I bring my elderly parents?
People in their 90s have had a wonderful time on cruises! We will be happy to pre-board and settle them in the cabin if it would be more comfortable for them.
What about meals?
Both cruises offer a Boar’s Head deli box lunch or supper. We offer three choices for sandwiches: ham, turkey or vegetarian. If you have a preference, please call us at 631-477-2100 and we’ll reserve your choice for you.
If you require a kosher or halal meal, we will arrange it for you. Please call at least a week ahead to let us know.
If you have any allergies, or any other health or dietary special needs, please call us. We are happy to work with you to make the trip a good one for you.
Our last cruise of the year – The Chowder Cruise – features a delicious homemade New England Clam chowder as a special treat for participants.
Can I pick up my boarding pass before the day of the cruise?
No – we only give out the boarding passes the day of the trip. You can pick them up at the museum 90 minutes before departure.
I would like to buy a cruise gift certificate. How can I do it?
Call us at 631-477-2100 or send an email to eesmcruises@gmail.com. You can purchase a gift certificate for a particular lighthouse trip; or purchase registration that the recipient(s) can use in the next 12 months for any trip with available space.
