  mid - May thru July Volunteer at the Great Gull Island Tern Project sponsored by the Division of Vertebrate Zoology – Ornithology, American Museum of Natural History. One week commitment required
     
  May 4 | Volunteer Orientation - at Museum 10 AM

Museum opens for the season.  Opening Night Reception 5-8 pm. Awards Ceremony.
     
  June 1 Members Visit to 1938 Fireboat "Firefighter" in Mitchell Park Marina. 11 am.  Tour the boat with a storied NYC history, including 9/11 World Trade Center and SS Normandie
     
  June 8 Volunteer Orientation - at Museum 10 AM 
     
  June 28 Members Trip to Block Island.  7 am - 8 pm. Explore the island and see the famous Mohegan Cliffs and the Southeast Lighthouse. Lunch overlooking the harbor at The National Hotel
     
  July 13 Members Blacksmith Demo - 10 am. See old-time iron-working skills.
     
  July 13 Lighthouses Day Cruise
     
  July 18 Members Fund Raising Trip to Fishers Island.  Visit to the Ferguson Museum/See their 2013 Race Rock Lighthouse Exhibit
     
  July 27 Lighthouses Day Cruise
     
  Aug 2 Members and Volunteers Trip to Bug Light :  Members & Volunteers Trip to Bug Light.  4-6 pm.  Bob Allen, the great-grandson of the last keeper of Bug Light, will share family stories about life on the lighthouse.
     
  Aug 3 Haunted Lighthouses Cruise
     
  Aug 5 Members Trip to Plum Island.  9 am - 2:30 pm.  Tour Plum Island - See Plum Island Light close up, Fort Terry, Revolutionary War site, harbor and grey seals and beautiful white sand beaches
     
  Aug 17 Lighthouses Day Cruise
     
  Aug 25 Members Whale-Watching Trip. Look for humpbacked whales, sharks, dolphins and more.  9 am - 3 pm - Viking Fleet in Montauk, NY
     
  Aug 31 Eco-Lighthouses Cruise
     
  Sep. ... Sept.  Members Sail Away on local charter
     
  Sep. 13 Members Visit SPAT/Cornell Marine Program. Oyster and scallop hatchery in Southold. 10 AM.
